The Battle of Nantwich
Cheer as members of re-enactment society The Sealed Knot gather in Nantwich to re-enact the battle that took place in 1644, marking the end of the Royalist siege of the town during the English Civil War. Nantwich was freed by the Parliamentarian army and their success is celebrated each year on Holly Holy Day, when the battle is re-enacted on Mill Island. Expect marvellous costumes, horses, muskets, cannons and lots of shouting.
