Cheer as mem­bers of re-en­act­ment so­ci­ety The Sealed Knot gather in Nantwich to re-en­act the bat­tle that took place in 1644, mark­ing the end of the Roy­al­ist siege of the town dur­ing the English Civil War. Nantwich was freed by the Par­lia­men­tar­ian army and their suc­cess is cel­e­brated each year on Holly Holy Day, when the bat­tle is re-en­acted on Mill Is­land. Ex­pect mar­vel­lous cos­tumes, horses, mus­kets, can­nons and lots of shout­ing.
