With lots of white, vintage treasures, flowers and nostalgia, this home epitomises the best of shabby chic style.
Bianca Planner lives with her husband Markus and their three children and four dogs in a semidetached house in a small town in Germany. Bianca’s passions include decorating, blogging, reading and cooking and she also loves photography. “My style of living is a mixture of shabby chic and French style. I like to be inspired by other blogs and Instagram” but mostly her ideas come to her when she discovers treasures in local flea markets.
Bianca’s house is modern, it was built in 1987, but the decor is vintage and although it is a townhouse, she has decorated it in a romantic country style that reminds her of her childhood growing up in the countryside. The garden also provides the sense that nature is very much
present. Bianca loves taking care of her roses and peonies and making beautiful arrangements around the house.
Her all white colour scheme gives her home a bright and airy feel that makes the house feel summery all year round. Her love of flea market finds also inspired her to open her own Etsy shop where she displays a range of wares, a cabinet de curiosités that she edits carefully, with an eye for the unusual and quirky finds. She inherited her creativity from her grandmother who passed on some of her favourite heirlooms. “My favorite decoration piece is a very old Madonna. She stood by my great-grandmother’s bed, then my grandma’s. And now she is standing next to my bed and protecting me”.
