Situated in Normandy, near Honfleur, in the heart of the Auge region, Le Domaine d’Ablon is a luxurious ‘maison d’hotes’ perfect for a family winter break. The garden and fields surrounding the domaine look truly magical under the snow. One of the highlights at the domaine is discovering the rich gastronomy of Normandy with Chef Jerome Billochon who is happy to share his tips and tricks. His workshops reveal the secrets of Norman cuisine, pastries and chocolate. If you rather eat than learn, you’ll be served seasonal meals (with most vegetables coming from the Domaine’s own potager) in the privacy of your suite.
The hallmark of all the luxury cottages is the attention to detail and the use of original materials. The recently opened Dovecote Suite is set in a 17th century dovecote and the bedroom is under a cathedral-like spire. When it comes to Christmas, the Domaine goes to town with the decor and the food, and there is a gourmand family dinner made from local produce including local cheeses, apple compote and calvados.
