Designers have chance to showcase their work

-

Talented makers of handmade goods will showcase their work at Graylingwell Water Tower today (Thursday) as part of an initiative to encourage creatives to break into the marketplace.

Further events in the series, organised by the Chichester Community Development Trust, will aim to give a platform to existing and wouldbe providers of wellbeing activities for physical and mental health and food and drink products.

Clare de Bathe, director of CCDT, said the idea stemmed from the talents of individuals that had come to the fore during the trust’s own work.

She said: “We felt inspired to find others who may not yet have been bold enough to take that first step of sharing their gift with the city.

“At the same time we were struck by the realisation that many people in Chichester may not have had the opportunity to try out some of the wonderful local art, food, drink or activities and this is a perfect opportunity to see what is available.”

She said the events were for both established traders and people looking to sell a product or provide a service like photography in their spare time.

A ‘Healthy Mind’ event is scheduled for March 21, followed by ‘healthy body’ on March 28 and a food and drink showcase on April 4.

Anyone who does not fit into one of the categories planned is welcome to get in touch to inform future events.

Potential participants should email bookings@ chichestercdt.org.uk. Evening entertainments for the four events will take place from 6pm to 8pm, and are open to people of all ages, free of charge. Register at www.chichestercdt. org.uk/events.
