Boost for dementia support hub as it is selected as charity of the year
Sage House, the Dementia Support charity hub based in Tangmere, has been given a boost.
Thesis Asset Management has announced its Chichester office has selected Sage House Dementia Support as its charity of the year for 2019.
Sage House was officially opened in May 2018 by Her Royal Highness The Countess of Wessex and, now fully operational, is the first of its kind in the UK bringing all dementia services under one roof for people living with dementia, their families and carers.
Sage House is run by Dementia Support and works in partnership with voluntary and charitable organisations, including the NHS and West Sussex County Council.
James Nield, office director and investment manager at Thesis Asset Management, said: “Sage House is a fantastic local charity with which we look forward to working closely throughout 2019. The support Sage House provides to those living with dementia and their families around West Sussex is remarkable and we are very honoured to be supporting the team there this year.”
The Thesis Chichester team also recently attended a Dementia Friends training session with Sage House, to ensure they can support clients and the community with dementia more effectively.
Lesley-anne Lloyd, part of the fundraising team at Sage House, added: “The Dementia Friends session was the first step in what I hope will be a positive and long lasting partnership with Thesis Asset Management.
“The team are all raring to go with their volunteering and fundraising and we are thrilled to welcome them.”
Last year Thesis raised £3,400 for The Sussex Snowdrop Trust.
