Crablands lose out to Donnington Bowls Club

Donnington Short Mat Bowls Club travelled to Selsey to play a friendly match against Crablands Short Mat Bowls Club. On rink one, Donnington were represente­d by Maggie Maggs, Brian Taylor, Allan Banham andskipter­ryhaigh; Crablands by Wally Obermyer, Lil Tuck, Jan Obermyer and skip Jim Saunders. Crablands were ahead from the first end and kept the advantage. Donnington lost 19-11.

On rink two, the Donnington team comprised Janine Banham, Peter Skinner, Colin Hulbert and skip Peter Whale.

The Crablands team was made up of Michael Lockyer, George Arnold, Trevor Wilson and skip Peter Blackman.

Crablands went ahead by seven shots, until Donnington started to score on the sixth end. Donnington started to score points regularly and eventually won by 22-14.

The friendly ended as a draw.

Hunston had another good and enjoyable match and won on both mats 46 – 26

On mat 1 they won 26-10 T Hack, R Moore ,C Bulter E Whiting, on mat 2 it was a lot closer 20-16 A Harle, R King, D Regon R Stevens

Southbourn­e Rovers 59 Walberton Blue 21

In their final match of the season in the Southwest Division 2 Short Mat League, Southbourn­e Rovers at home to Walberton Blue finished on a high with good wins on both mats to take all six points.
