Largest club golf match in the UK?

The first leg of the marathon match between Cowdray and Goodwood was played on Saturday in blustery conditions at both venues. 224 golfers competed on the day in what is thought to be the largest club match in the UK.

After a very strong start from Goodwood, Cowdray rallied to leave the scores at Goodwood 109 to Cowdray 93.

The return leg will be held in October with Cowdray looking to defend the title they won last year.
