Plans are already being put in place for the 4th annual Emsworth Beer Festival.

It will be held from Friday, September 27, to Sunday 29 and will feature around 30 award-winning and local beers, as well as ciders.

Organisers choose the beers following CAMRA’S Great British Beer Festival in August, which enables them to present some of the class winners from the coveted event.

Live music in the evenings adds to the great atmosphere at a festival which has quickly become a firm favourite in the Emsworth calendar.

Wines and gins will be provided by Vin, Emsworth’s independent wine merchant.

A wide selection of baguettes, as well as home made soup, will be provided by Le Petit Pain, the popular sandwich bar in North Street, Emsworth.

The beer festival is held in Emsworth Community Centre, a short walk from Emsworth Station and close to the 700 service bus route.

Tickets, which include a commemorative glass and a free pint, will be only £10.

There will be four sessions: ■ Friday, September 27 – 5.30pm to 10.30pm

■ Saturday 28 – 11am to 5pm

■ Saturday 28 – 6pm to 10.30pm

■ Sunday 29 – midday to 4pm

The last sesssion is a ‘drinkup’ one, with free admission and all remaining beers substantially discounted.

Four-pint carry-outs will be available.

If you or your business are interested in sponsoring a barrel organisers would love to hear from you.

A festival spokesman said: “Sponsorship costs only £100, for which you will receive six free tickets for you and your friends, and advertising on our promotional material and at the event.

“Most importantly you’ll be helping to ensure the financial viability of a great local event.”
