Ban amplified street music

- ANN HUDSON Hawthorn Close, Chichester

It was a delight to see the Martlet Sword and Morris Men performing in North Street, Chichester, in the spring sunshine on Saturday, complete with live music – but what a shame they had to compete with noisy street performers nearby.

Amplified music in the city streets is often unpleasant to hear, especially if this includes a backing track, and the only musicians who get money from me are those who perform without it.

I’m sure many people – not least those who work in shops and offices in the city centre – would like to see a ban on amplified music there.
