Peregrines at cathedral
The peregrine falcons on Chichester Cathedral have settled in after a late start and all is going very well. The four eggs should hatch in about a fortnight but parents take turns at brooding. The main diet seems to be starlings which breed in buildings in the city. Wildlife photographers David and Janet Shaw have been recording the peregrines on the Chichester Cathedral for 19 years and their photographs this spring of the famous birds surpass anything seen before. We are privileged in the paper to show one of these photographs each week in my column. Meet them this Saturday and Sunday April 27 and 28 - at the cathedral and view the activity of the peregrines on camera.
