Four club runners completed the 30-mile course – Andy Shill finishing in 6hr 6min, Tony Holcombe in 6.11 and Grace Natoli and Jude Bazeley who ran the race together. An incredible achievement especially with the 3,800ft of elevation. Paul Coe took the 40-mile which had nearly 4,200ft of elevation, finishing in 8.25. In the 4x10 mile event Tone Zone teams took the top three spots. First to finish were The Nifty Fifties (Christo Oosthuizen, Paul Jarvis, Trev Strowger and Duncan Stephensongill) in 5.18. Jack Penfold, Neil Strudwick, Kari Mack and Alice Cox-rusbridge made up Jolly and Nifty Knees, in second place in 5.47. The Pace Makers we’re third (Keith Hardwell, Ian Bayley, Gary Pidgeon and Danny Mahoney) in 6.08. The club’s next team to finish were ‘Only in it for the burger!’ (Allen Porter, Kirstee Porter, David Rowe and Lisa Jaycocks). They took just over seven hours. Team Happy Feet were next (Donna Strowger, Natalie Tribe, Susi Briggs and Karen Vilday) in 7.42, two minutes ahead of All Sorts and Jelly Beans. All Sorts had Debs Pacey, Lisa Robinson, Karen Blackman and Mark Williamson. As a team tradition they wore shorts covered in an All Sorts sweetie pattern. Jelly Beans comprised Alison Lindley, Neli Pacey, Derek Natoli and Viv Baker and finished in 7.44, hand in hand with their ‘sweetie’ friends.
