Chichester High School Year 11 students enjoyed the culmination of all their hard work this year, when they attended their spectacular Prom.

Students started to arrive from 6pm onwards, in a wide variety of transport, including someone arriving by horse and cart.

They were met by Mr Coles, who escorted them from the car towards the red carpet. Here they were greeted with a huge round of applause from all the family members who had come to see them in their finery.

A spokesman for the school said: “We had some amazing dresses and suits.

“After a photo stop, they entered Kingsham Hall, which had been transformed with an Italian masquerade theme.

“The students were amazed by the transformation of the Kingsham Gym and Hall, which twinkled with lights from the star cloth.

“The Prom committee had done an amazing job decorating the areas with the chosen masquerade ball theme with masks, multi coloured lights and balloons.

“The students sat down to a lovely meal of garlic bread, lasagna with salad, with a delicious chocolate brownie to follow, provided by SJI Food & Service.

“This was all served by volunteers from our CHS sixth form and Year 10, who traditionally support the Year 11 Prom.”

“After dinner, the students danced the night away to the fantastic music from DJ Si’s Team at After Dark Productions, or visited the mocktail bar before stopping off in the photo booth to immortalise the event. Despite the heat, the students danced until the evening ended at 11pm.

“The students had a wonderful evening and many commented on what an amazing night they had had as they were leaving.

“A big thank you to the Prom committee, Mrs Read and her team of adult helpers in helping make this event so spectacular.”
