Paying them for doing nothing?

Mr Symonds of Ifield village seems to be three years out of date. Nathan Elvery was appointed chief executive of West Sussex County Council in June 2016. You can read all about it on the internet.

His appointment terms remain very controversial.

He has three executive directors and there are several other directors in the tier below. All of them are handsomely paid. If as Mr Symonds stated, their powers were terminated in 2014, why are we paying them for doing nothing?
