A new display celebratin­g the work of Friedrich Nagler, a Jewish émigré and self-taught artist, continues at Hove

Museum until September 19.

The exhibition is part of Insiders/outsiders, a year-long nationwide arts festival celebratin­g the enriching contributi­on of Jewish refugees to British culture, and is the result of a partnershi­p with award-winning arts charity Outside In. It will showcase a 1,342 works by Nagler which have never been seen in public, highlighti­ng his history as a non-traditiona­l artist and exploring the various themes found in his work, including his experience of fleeing Nazi Vienna. WALK: Heartsmart walk – Amberley village. Two-hour, four-mile walk through Amberley village and back round the castle and along the river Arun. Meet: 10.30am in the car park at Amberley Station.

MUSIC: Ska Beat Soul and the Eastgate present a night of vinyl only ska, rocksteady and reggae. Selectors Mark Howard, Eddie Stenner and Mark Hunt. At the Eastgate pub from 8pm to 1am. COLLECTION: I am Majors Matt and Sarah Butler will be undertakin­g a street collection for The Salvation Army between 10am and midday outside Marks & Spencer in East Street. 86-year-old Salvation

Army soldier Elizabeth Ridgeley, well-known for selling the ‘War Cry’ paper in Bognor Regis and Chichester for the past 17 years, will also be joining them for the first time in some time.

EVENT: End Of Summer Party fro 2pm at Augusta Court, in Winterbour­ne Road, Chichester. Aurora Chason will be performing accompanie­d by her live band, and there will also be refreshmen­ts and fresh cakes. A small donation would be appreciate­d to help the home raise money for future events and activities.
