Bosham steady the ship after rocky start

Bosham continued to steady the ship after their rocky start to the new SCFL campaign and kicked off their home season with an exciting win against Rottingdean.

The visitors got off to a dream start when Alfie Barnes score din the first minute.

Bosham needed a quick repost after only nine minutes they were level when Max Terry scored with a superbly struck, curling, effort into the far corner.

Bosham continued their resurgence, creating good openings for both Alex Barnes and Andy Brown and it was latter who finally put the home side into the lead for the first time just after the quarter hour mark.

However, Bosham were unable to hold onto that lead and on the half hour, somewhat against the run of play, the black and whites were level as Bradley Stevens thumped a stretched effort past the outstretched arm of Harley Redman.

Bosham hardly had time to react to the setback when the visitors went back in front in the tie as Stevens grabbed his second goal of the game. Bosham stepped out determined not to repeat the faults of the first and just on the hour mark they duly levelled up the tie again with the redoubtable Barnes on target to the delight of the home fans.

If Bosham were to find a winner from the tie it surely would come from Barnes or Brown and, with the last quarter of the gamer looming large, it was indeed Brown who found a route to goal to finally settle the score for the reds.

Bosham had the better of things in the closing minutes and duly held firm to seal another important win that moves them up to sixth in the table at this early stage of the season and Brighton Electric will be paying a visit to Walton Lane next week to try and steal the points whilst Bosham look to continue to grow in confidence as the weeks go by.
