Chefs at Colten Care’s Chichester nursing home have taken inspiration from Willy Wonka to support the Macmillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.

Visitors will be raising a mug at Wellington Grange in Broyle Road at the annual charity get-together tomorrow (Friday) and will be served fresh, homemade cupcakes. One of these will be a special ‘Golden Cupcake’, containing gold sugar balls through the middle.

As well as a bottle of bubbly, the lucky recipient will be entered into a draw involving other Colten Care homes, with the chance to win a £500 prize. The overall winner will land £250 in shopping vouchers with Colten Care making an equivalent donation to Macmillan on their behalf.

Chef Matt Jerrard said: “We all love the story of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and the idea of a golden ticket. We thought the chance to win a golden cupcake would add even more interest to the coffee morning.”

The ‘world’s biggest coffee morning’ will be taking place on Friday, September 27. There are a number of mornings being held around the area including:

Rother Valley together are hosting at ‘The Grange’ Midhurst from 10am till noon.

A morning will be held on Saturday, September 28 at the Midhurst Methodist Church from 12pm until 3pm.
