Homes at holiday park approved

-

Detailed plans for new homes on the site of a former Bracklesham holiday park have been given the thumbs up.

South Downs Holiday Village in Bracklesham Lane closed back in 2016 and since then has been used as accommodation for seasonal agricultural workers. Developers snapped up the site and an outline planning application of up to 85 homes was approved by Chichester District Council back in 2018.

Now a reserved matters application for 80 homes, which sets out the detailed layout and design of the development, has been given the green light by Chichester planning officers.

Miller Homes is proposing 30 per cent affordable housing. This would be 24 units in total, of which 17 would be for affordable rent and seven for shared ownership. Building heights would range from one to 2.5 storeys. The developer’s application said the development ‘responds to the site’s unique opportunities and constraints’.
