Flower show goes virtual after event cancellation

-

The Mundham and District Gala and Flower Show is going online after the cancellation of next month’s event due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The show’s committee is inviting people to submit photos of their flowers and plants, vegetables, arts, crafts and cookery as part of the Mundham and District Virtual Flower Show,

Joanna Armandias, show manager for 2020, said: “Many of you will have had more time to garden, paint, draw, sew, craft and cook over the past few weeks. Perhaps you feel inspired to share some of your skills with our wider community.

“Thanks to the RHS Virtual Chelsea programmes week and also photographs submitted to BBC South, we have been able to enjoy the spectacle of many exceptional flowers, gardens and gardening ideas on the television.

“Over the next few weeks why not take photographs of the fruits of your labour to share with and provide pleasure to others during these uncertain social distancing days.”

Photos should be emailed to showmanager@ mundhamgala.co.uk and, if selected for publication by the committee, they will be posted on www.mundhamgala.co.uk

Joanna said: “The Mundham and District Gala and Flower Show committee hope to be able to celebrate the end of lockdown with you before too long but in the meantime please stay safe.”
