Chichester High School

In years to come, the shutdown of education Uk-wide on Friday, March 20, 2020, won’t simply be seen as a matter of school closures, it will be seen as the closure of a kind of schooling – the beginning of a different era.

Inordertoofferaneducation that stimulates and inspires our pupils, Chichester High School have been investing in the latest technology and resources since we merged two schools. We pride ourselves on being at the forefront when it comes to innovative ways of delivering lessons and exploring new teaching and learning techniques that enhance the pupil learning experience at Chichester High School.

Our education and digital development staff members have been working closely with outside agencies for many years to ensure we fully utilise the digital resources and interactive teaching and learning techniques available in the education world. Because of this, the transition from classroom learning to virtual learning has been a relatively seamless process.

As a school, we are uniquely positioned to bring teachers together and facilitate sharing of best practice across all departments. Chichester High School has entered a new chapter of virtual learning.

Our CHS online learning strategy has enabled us to deliver effective and engaging lessons, designed to continue to deliver the curriculum as seamlessly as possible, supplemented with a range of activities and initiatives aimed at enhancing pupil health and wellbeing.

Pastoral care continues to be at the heart of everything we do and during this period of remote learning, it becomes more important than ever for us all. We aim to retain, as far as possible, pastoral provision in order to ensure that pupils’ wellbeing and safety are maintained.

We are very mindful of our responsibility to wider society, and to that end, the school remains open for the children of key frontline staff, whose professional responsibilities prevent them from providing supervision at home.

This is an unprecedented situation for us, all of us: we will do all that we can to make the path forward as smooth as possible for our whole community and we are so thankful for everyone pulling together. It really does reflect the school’s vision to enjoy, endeavour, excel whilst always be kind, aware and ready.
