An eight-year-old from Chichester has raised hundreds of pounds for St Richard’s Hospital.

Caitlin Mustard initially set a target of £300 but has since gone on to raise £805.

Her dad, Craig Mustard, who owns Mustard’s bar and restaurant in Bognor Regis, said: “When the lockdown began we played street bingo organised by one of the neighbours. Caitlin took it upon herself to bake cakes with me and sell them to raise money for St Richard’s.”

Caitlin has been raising money to buy toys for the children’s ward at the hospital.

To raise even more money Caitlin also decided to take on a bike ride with her dad.

He said: “She came up with the idea of doing a 10km bike ride to raise more money, but she then put a post out on my Facebook page saying 10km isn’t enough – she wanted to do 20km.”

Craig and Caitlin completed the 20km bike ride last Thursday, June 4.

Caitlin said: “I am speechless and amazed about how much money I have raised.

“Thank you so much to all of the people who have donated to my Gofundme page.

“It’s like a dream to raise so much money to give presents to all the poorly children in the hospital and hopefully give them something to make them happy.”

And there seems to be no stopping her as she already has other plans to raise even more funds.
