Still time to get a space at school
A Chichester school saved from closure is planning an exciting curriculum for children returning to school in the autumn.
Rumboldswhyke CE Infants School was saved at the eleventh hour when the regional schools commissioner supported plans for it to become part of the Bishop Luffa Trust.
The school and the trust will be sharing resources and expertise to ensure Rumboldswhyke continues to go from strength to strength.
Austen Hindman, headteacher at Bishop Luffa School, said: “Students and staff are very excited about our new partnership with Rumboldswhyke School. I have been overwhelmed with offers of help and we hope to have lots of Bishop Luffa students regularly visiting Rumboldswhyke to help with reading, maths, sport, art and drama. We are also looking forward to the children coming to visit us at Bishop Luffa, where they will be able to use our specialist facilities like technology rooms, science labs and musical instruments.”
The photograph shows Rumboldswhyke children pond dipping in the school grounds. Outside learning has featured highly over the last few months with the children regularly accessing the Forest school and pond areas.
There are spaces available for September, particularly in reception. Any parents interested in a place or to arrange a visit can email the school at bursar@rumbolds whyke.w-sussex.sch.uk or phone 01243 782368. Or the school admissions team on 0330 2223582 or email admissions.south@west sussex.gov.uk
