Get a breath of fresh air and live well in 2021

- St Wilfrid’s St Wilfrid’s Hospice

e all want a breath of fresh air after 2020, and for some that is harder than others.

One of the most common symptoms St Wilfrid’s Hospice encounters is breathlessness – experienced by many people with all sorts of long-term conditions including some of those in Covid-19 recovery.

With ‘Breathe Well, Live Well’, our first series of podcasts and videos, our experts will give you easy to follow tips to better cope with breathlessness.

St Wilfrid’s patient Trevor Kills said: “Breathlessness – it can be like running a marathon breathing through a straw whilst your mouth is completely covered. Thanks to the support of St Wilfrid’s however, I now feel more in control.”

Chris Rawson, Living Well services manager, said: “With many of us now spending more time at home these new videos and podcasts make it easy for people to find much needed tips and guidance to living more independently with their conditions.

“It is a proud feeling to witness the vast improvement that can be seen in people’s lives with just a few simple techniques and the determination to improve.

“Our hope is with each episode you will find breathing a little easier, feel a little calmer and be better able to cope with any breathing difficulties you may experience.”

The series is also recommended to those living with people with breathlessness as it may be helpful for them to listen in so that they can practise techniques to best support them.
