Lockdown boost for milk delivery firm
A milk-delivery firm has gone from strength to strength during the lockdowns of the last year – and even helped deliver essentials like toilet roll when stocks were low in supermarkets.
Launched in November, 2018, Southern Dairies delivers milk in real glass bottles, with recycling and the environment at the fore of the family run company’s ethos.
In a little over two years, milk rounds have been established in Bognor Regis,
Chichester and Midhurst, as well as in neighbouring Worthing, Littlehampton and Arundel.
A spokesman for the business said during the Covid crisis, Southern Dairies had played a ‘pivotal role’ in supplying essential products like bread, cream, eggs, potatoes, fruit juices and cheese from an impressive range of more than 250 products, including the onceelusive loo roll.
Produce comes from local suppliers including the Goodwood and Cowdray Estates and Merry Meats of Yapton.
“Many of these deliveries were for vulnerable and/or isolating people, so it’s great to see the good old milkie being at the heart of our communities,” they added.
Southern Dairies founder and managing director Robbie Cameron said: “It’s been quite a challenge gearing up with the influx of new customers but we have a great team and have a pretty smooth operation going now.
“Whilst our rounds are busy, we still have some capacity for more deliveries in all areas so if you want to enjoy the freshest milk and local produce right on your doorstep, call 01243 767301 during office hours where you will speak directly to one of the team.
“Alternatively, you can email any questions you may have to hello@southern dairies.co.uk”
