Company helps fund ‘vital’ school

Chichester garden furniture company Lazy Susan Furniture has pledged to donate £12,500 to children’s charity Arms Around The Child.

The Portsmouth-based charity works in Ghana, South Africa and India as well as in the UK to help and support children living in extreme adversity and it is hoping to raise £25,000 to finish the much-needed building of a school in Ghana.

Lazy Susan Furniture is a small company that provides high-quality garden furniture.

It will match every donation made towards the building of the school until the fundraising target of £25,000 has been reached, thus its contribution would total £12,500.

Michael Scott, managing

director of Lazy Susan Furniture, said : “We believe in doing good by coming together to help those in need.

“Thanks to our customers we have been able to support so many amazing charities and we are thankful that Arms Around The Child is one of them.

“Education is very

important, so we really want to build the school in Ghana and see more smiling faces.”

Together the companies are reaching out to ask if members of the public can spare a donation to this vital campaign in order to reach the £25,000 target and complete the building of Happy Home preparatory school.

Without this school, some children are being forced to travel huge distances to receive their education, while others are missing out on an education altogether due to a lack of space within the schools. The fund was initially started by former Chelsea, Newcastle and Ghana national team footballer Christian Atsu and with his help the charity managed to complete all the groundwork and structure including the roofing struts.

All that is needed is the final £25,000 to finish the project and be able to educate hundreds of children who are living in extreme adversity.

“With your help, we can get the children living at Becky’s Home and the local community back into the classroom this year.”
