Support for Ukraine is cared about locally

-

Since the announcement of the invasion of Russian armed forces into Ukraine, at V2 Radio we’ve been inundated with many different pleas to help promote the different types of aid that local people, communities and organisations are offering. The generosity and the caring nature of so many locals truly make us feel proud of our local area and it’s honouring that we’re turned to for help to amplify these messages.

From primary schools to private individuals to business owners, there are many people coming forward with their plans which vary from monetary donations for children’s charities to collections of dayto-day essentials which will be transported to the Polish/ukrainian border.

If like me, you feel helpless at a time like this, where innocent people are being mindlessly killed in a war that feels completely unnecessary, please remember that there are things that you can do to make a difference to those fleeing Ukraine as refugees and those still standing resolutely. The families of those who have lost the lives of their loved ones will never truly recover, so let’s find a way of helping

a country on its knees in any way we can. We’ll never be able to replace lives lost but we can try and help ease the suffering.

We’ve created a noticeboard of key

information on the V2 Radio website which points you in the direction of the groups of individuals/businesses offering aid, as well as charities you can approach. It’s also an open forum for you to contribute to, so if you’re aware of any groups offering aid or have any relevant and useful information, please feel free to submit an entry.

You’ll find the notice board is accessible prominently from the home page of our website at v2radio.co.uk.

Supporting charitable appeals and giving charities a voice is part of the DNA that runs through V2 Radio.

We would struggle without the generous support of the listeners and the communities we serve across Sussex and beyond.

I’d like to offer a huge thank you to those who have offered support to any of the previous charity appeals we’ve been involved with or promoted in the past.

As a local media company, our views, and opinions when it comes to local, national news and affairs must remain impartial and our stance on politics is that of an apolitical disposition.

However, in a time like this where barbaric killing of innocent people is taking place, we feel it necessary to speak out by saying the war must be ended and we stand with the Ukrainian people in solidarity.

Let’s make a difference together.
