On a lovely spring afternoon our president welcomed members to our April meeting and we began with singing Jerusalem.

There were apologies from

Anne Duffy, Helen Martin, and Jan Parsons.

Jean Hewett was warmly thanked for the beautiful table flowers.

The record of the last meeting was read and everybody agreed that fellow member Joan Foster had given a very interestin­g talk about the Manhood Peninsula.

Pam Osborne was thanked for the coffee and croisants morning which had been held at her home and enjoyed by 20 members making a very good profit for funds.

West Sussex News reminded us about the 2023 calendar theme and final date; a Resolution Discussion event; and renewal of the 300 Club membership.

There was informatio­n about the West Sussex newsletter and a financial update.

Those present agreed ‘yes’” to a social event with Selsey WI and Sidlesham WI (our former group WI).

Plans for the future included an outing to Gilbert White’s House on Tuesday, May 24.

In June there will be a ploughman’s lunch on the Friday, June 17, at Annette’s house.

The duties book was sent round again to be filled in.

Dr Janet Pennington was introduced and she gave a very interestin­g and enthusiast­ic talk about Chanctonbu­ry Ring. Jean Hewett thanked her.

Refreshmen­ts were served by Gay Stacey and Chris Harris and after time to chat were thanked by Dawn Sudbury, our president.

In May David Wilson is coming to speak about ‘13 Countries across Europe’.

There will be an exhibition of gardening tips and social time if any will be bingo.

Flower of the month resulted in a first for Sue Jarman, and second for Gay Stacey.

Chris Malby won the hamper draw before the regular raffle draw was made.

The table flowers were sent to Jan Parsons who had severely hurt her back.
