Keep fit and meet new people on these walks

Arranged by trained volunteer leaders, Heartsmart walks aim to show people routes, encourage them to keep their hearts healthy and help them meet other people to walk with. All walks must be pre-booked at www.chichester.gov.uk/ heartsmart

• May 20, 10.30am – Nature Encounters on the Common. A one-hour, 1-1.5-mile walk around the heathland at Lynchmere Common with a Heathlands Reunited ranger. No dogs. Meet: Meet at the Lynchmere Society Noticeboar­d (What3words: ///thudding. uttering.inherits)

• May 22, 10.30am – Binsted Woods via Madonna

Pond. A 2-2.5-hour, fourmile mainly flat walk. Meet: Walberton Village Hall car park, BN18 0PQ.

• May 23, 10.30am – Longer Bosham Walk. A 75-minute, 2.75-mile mostly flat walk. Meet: Bosham Business Centre Car Park, PO18 8NN.

• May 23, 4pm – Rowlands Castle and St Hubert’s Church. A 3-3.5-hour, sixmile walk with two hills. Meet: The Castle Inn pub, 1 Finchdean Road, Rowlands Castle.

• May 24, 11am – Midhurst Jubilee Walk and South Pond. A 30-minute, one-mile walk. Meet: The Grange Leisure Centre, GU29 9HD.

• May 25, 10.30am –

Chichester Harbour. A 2.5-hour, 5.5-miles flat walk. Meet: Memorial Hall Car Park, West Wittering.

• May 25, 10.30am –

River Arun to The Stokes. A 2.5-hour, 4.8-mile walk with two stiles. Meet: Amberley Station Car Park, BN18 9LR.

• May 26, 10am – Wisborough Green. A 2.5 to 3-hour, 6.5-mile walk with uphill and downhill parts, six stiles and one fence. Meet: Park at the green in the laybys.

• May 26, 10am – Walderton to Compton. A twohour, five-mile walk with three steep climbs and some stiles. Meet: At the junction of the B2146 and the Walderton/stoughton Road.
