Great Downton-style estates across Sussex
The much-anticipated Downton Abbey: A New Era is proving a hit on the big screen and fans will be taken back to some of the stunning filming locations with properties full of elegance and grandeur.
While Highclere Castle, Hampshire, is the most famous location for the popular television series and two films, Sussex has some of the finest homes and gardens in the country and could easily rival the Downton favourites.
Many of these stately homes and manor houses are open to the public, so you can take a Downton-inspired trip out this weekend.

Southover Grange is home to Lewes Register Office and a magnificent 16th Century Grade II listed manor house.
Petworth House, owned by the National Trust, is a late 17th-century Grade I listed country house and open to the public.
Firle Place, near Lewes, is a privately owned and dates from the time of Henry VIII but was remodelled during the Georgian period.
Stanmer House is a Grade I listed mansion set in Stanmer Park, near Falmer.
Uppark House, Petersfield, is another National Trust property, built in the 17th century and open to the public.
Folkington Manor, Polegate, is a beautiful grade II listed English historic house.
Goodwood is a country house and estate covering 4,900 hectares and is the seat of the Duke of Richmond.
Sheffield Park House is
