Downton Abbey among the New Park films this week
Abbey continues to entertain large audiences at New Park. Empire called it “an affectionate, escapist hug of a movie – like being wrapped in a doily” We couldn’t agree more.
Barry & Joan is a joyful insight into the creative world of Barry and Joan Grantham, two British eccentrics who have kept the skills of vaudeville alive for over seventy years. Since becoming stage-struck lovers in 1948, Barry and Joan have taught, danced and acted alongside the greats of British film and theatre.
The Lost City is one of those delightful screwball comedies they just don’t seem to make anymore. It’s a comedic dream team of Channing Tatum and Sandra Bullock struggling to escape the clutches of Daniel Radcliffe’s villain on a tropical island.
Billy Wilder’s 1957 courtroom drama Witness for
the Prosecution is based on an Agatha Christie play and starring Charles Laughton and Marlene Dietrich, it’s a sparkling whodunnit that crackles with dramatic electricity. Murder on the Orient Express is showing at Chichester Festival Theatre and we are offering a film and backstage tour deal.
Playground takes a child’s eye look at devastatdownton ing formative schoolyard conflict. The child actors are incredible and the drama is utterly compelling.
