Heartsmart walks are available to book a week in advance at chichester.gov.uk/heartsmart •Tomorrow (February 17), 10.30am: Cocking, SDW, West Dean. Seven-and-a-half miles across downland and woodland. No dogs. Meet: Cocking Hill car park.

•Tomorrow (February

17), 10.30am: Winter Nature Encounters on the Common. A one- to one-and-a-halfmile relaxing walk around the heathland at Iron Hill. No dogs. Meet: Iron Hill car park.

•Sunday (February 19), 10.30am: Slindon Woods. A three-and-a-half-mile generally flat walk with some muddy areas and short inclines. Meet: National Trust car park, Dukes Road.

•Monday (February 20), 2pm: Lavington Common, Burton Park and Duncton. Five miles through heathland, woods, parkland and green meadows. No dogs. Meet: Lavington Common and Plantation car park.

•Wednesday (February 22), 10.30am: Centurion Way, Brandy Hole, Oaklands Park, City Walls. Some three miles taking in the wooded Centurion Way and Brandy Hole Lane, along Broyle Road then Oaklands Park, the NW quadrant of the City Walls, along Westgate Road back to the start. Meet: The western end of Westgate, near Bishop Luffa School Bus turning circle.

•Wednesday (February 22), 10.30am: Midhurst

Carron Lane. A three-anda-half-mile walk exploring Midhurst Common and Severals Wood. Meet: Midhurst Carron Lane Cemetery car park.

•Next Thursday (February 23), 10.30am: Petworth Park, Upperton and Tillington. A four-mile circular through Petworth Park to Upperton and Tillington before returning to Petworth Park. Meet: Sylvia Beaufroy car park.

•Next Thursday (February 23), 10.30am: Plaistow. More than four miles from the picturesqu­e village of Plaistow. A reasonably level walk with countrysid­e views, five or six styles. No dogs. Meet: On East side of village green opposite shop.
