Keep fit and meet new people while walking

Chichester District Council’s Heartsmart walks are available to book a week in advance at chichester.gov.uk/ heartsmart. Walks include:

•Tomorrow (March 10), 10.30am: Goodwood to East Dean. A hilly six-mile walk through woodland and fields, taking in East Dean. Meet: Counters Gate car park Goodwood.

•Saturday (March 11), 10.15am: Graylingwe­ll. A flat, more than one-mile walk at a gentle pace enjoying the history of Graylingwe­ll Park. Meet: Outside the Pavilion glass building looking onto Havenstoke Park.

•Saturday (March 11), 10.30am: Binsted woods. A four-mile, mainly flat headland path, grass, gravel. Meet: Walberton Village Hall car park, The Street.

•Monday (March 13), 10.30am: Chichester Canal. A flat walk at a gentle pace. Meet: Chichester Canal.

•Monday (March 13), 2pm: Midhurst, Iping and Stedham Commons. Five-and-a-halfmiles of Heathland, Pine Forest and Commons. A mostly flat walk with lovely outlooks. No dogs. Meet: Iping and Stedham Car Park.

•Wednesday (March 15), 10.30am: Eartham Woods. A five-and-a-half-mile walk through Eartham Woods. No stiles. Meet: Forestry Commission car park, Eartham.

•Wednesday (March 15), 10.30am: Fishbourne. A circular, flat walk of more than two miles. The walk includes Fishbourne Centre’s fields, the pond near the Bull’s Head, Fishbourne Channel’s western coastal path, and then some country paths and lanes back to the Fishbourne Centre. Meet: Fishbourne Centre car park.

•Thursday (March 16), 10.30am: Midhurst/ Cowdray Circular. Four-miles from the car park for Cowdray Farm Shop across to Benbow Pond and back. Meet: At the car park on the grass verge.

•Friday (March 17), 10.30am: Iping and Chithurst. A pleasant walk of more than six miles with lovely views. No dogs, except for assistance dogs. Meet: Outside the Hamilton Arms Stedham.
