Bournemouth Ladies 2s 2 Chichester Ladies 3

Chichester Ladies travelled to Bournemouth – and came home with another three points behind them.

And they now need only one more win from their final four games to win the league title.

The Chi girls started strongly and were very attacking in the first few minutes of the game.

This paid off as they got an early goal in the 11th minute scored by Amy Price.

Just eight minutes later Charlotte Gammon scored a reverse hit making their lead feel more comfortable.

Bournemouth had some unsuccessful shots on goal as goal keeper Jade Collins kept

the scoresheet at 2-0.

Bournemouth didn’t give up and after some good attacking play from them and

they won a penalty corner which they managed to convert.

Just before the half-time whistle blew, Verena Grave put one in the back of the goal from an awkward angle, making the score 3-1 at the interval.

The second half consisted of more attacking play from both teams, with a goal scored by Bournemouth in the 45th minute.

Chi continued to attack with fantastic drives down the line from Lottie Greenless and Chelsea Webster, trying to get the ball to the far post where Ruby Whitley and Emma Allan were ready to get on the end of it and put the ball in the back of the net.

The Chi ladies managed to keep hold of the lead through calm and collected play and excellent defending from Rosie Smith, Demelza

Peake, Megan Thomas and Jess Stanley ensuring a 3-2 win over the home side.

Chelsea Webster and Amy Price shared the player of the match award this weekend with equal votes from the rest of the team.

With four more games left of the season, the Chi ladies now need only one more win to secure promotion.

They are back at Chichester College this weekend facing Isle of Wight, so be sure to come and support the ladies in this and their other final few games.
