Chichester District Council’s Heartsmart walks are available to book a week in advance at chichester.gov.uk/ heartsmart and include:

•Tomorrow (March 24), 10.30am: Stansted: Walk 4. Three miles to Stansted Forest, then coffee. Meet: Stansted House Garden Centre car park.

•Tomorrow (March 24), 10.30am: Lavington Common to Duncton. A six-mile longer walk across heathland, woodland and commons and passing through Graffham. No dogs. Meet: Lavington Common car park.

•Monday (March 27), 10.30am: Chichester Canal. A one-mile flat walk at a gentle pace. Meet: Chichester

Canal, Basin Road.

•Monday (March 27), 10.30am: Emsworth to Langstone. A four-mile flat shoreline walk. No dogs. Meet: Emsworth Town Square.

•Monday (March 27), 2pm: Chilgrove. A circular hilly scenic walk of five miles, taking in the wishing well at East Marden. No dogs. Meet: The White Horse Inn, Chilgrove.

•Tuesday (March 28), 10.30am: Cissbury Ring. A four-mile circular walk up and around Cissbury Ring. Meet: Car park left off the A24 southbound.

•Tuesday (March 28), 11am: Midhurst Jubilee Walk and South Pond. Flat walks around Midhurst. Meet: The Grange Leisure Centre, Bepton Road.

•Wednesday (March 29), 10.30am: West Marden. A sixand-a-half-mile moderately strenuous walk to Walderton via West Marden. Meet: Stansted House car park.

•Wednesday (March 29), 10.30am: Longer Bosham Walk. A more than two-mile walk briefly to the west to join the Bosham Channel, then south along the shoreline to Bosham Quay, Bosham Church, the Trippetts, then north past the Berkley Arms back to the start. Mostly flat. Meet: Bosham Business Centre car park.

•Next Friday (March 31), 10.30am: Stoughton Down. A hilly five-and-a-half-mile walk with great views. No dogs. Meet: Stoughton Down car park.
