Bognor Regis and District Dog Training Club recently held its Annual General Meeting and it was reported that the club had recovered well after the disruption caused by the pandemic. A spokespers­on said: “Training is now based on the Kennel Club of Great Britain Good Citizen programme and takes place on Thursday evenings, which is supplement­ed by basic obedience training. For anyone that would prefer to do straight obedience and not Good Citizens they are welcome to come to the Friday class at 9pm for one hour. Anyone that would like to join the Friday training, please contact the trainer Dave Vivash on 01243 606420.

"It was also reported that the club’s very popular annual show, which is usually held in June, has reluctantl­y been held over for this year.

"Bognor Dog Training

club has vacancies for its next training courses which include a special puppy class for dogs up to six months old and three levels of normal Kennel Club-based Good Citizen training, which also include some additional obedience training. The next courses start on Thursday, April 20 and are held at Felpham Village Memorial Hall, times are dependent on the class.

“Having been formed in 1967 the club is proud to be one of the longest establishe­d in the area, and as a non-profit making organisati­on, it also boasts as having possibly the lowest fees in the area, making Dog Training affordable to everyone. All of the club’s trainers are experience­d and have relevant training qualificat­ions and all adhere rigidly to the club’s motto Training by Kindness.
