You make us strive to do more for our community

- The view from V2

As another year draws to a close, what a year we have had as your local radio station at V2 Radio. We counted 9441 bras at the beginning of the year to raise funds for “against breast cancer”, we donated 12.7 tonnes of tinned food, this amount is staggering.

We delivered the tins to foodbanks across the county, helping people who need it most and keeping them fed. I had some informative conversations with the food banks while we were delivering the tins and found out a little more as to what's involved.

One thing that shocked me was the amount of food they get through and the other is seeing how much they appreciate what we do as a local radio station to support the community.

We have also recently completed our toy appeal with a great success.

Upon writing this article we have counted over 3000 toys, and we are still counting, again delivering these is really humbling knowing that a child will get something this year.

It is tough out there as everyone is feeling the pinch but to see how appreciated our beneficiaries are really warms my heart.

As your proper local radio station, we strive to be the best we can be by helping as many people as possible, whether that is through our appeals or just a warming voice on the airwaves, maybe we kick off a nostalgic memory with what we play.

It really is a very satisfying job to do, and I absolutely love it as well as the whole team at here do.

Our amazing charity events cannot be effective without YOU, you are the ones that put your hands in your pockets in these tough times to buy a tin of food for another, or a toy so a child will not go without, you are the ones that make us strive to do more for our community.

Thank you!

We have loved seeing you at our local events, across the district.

Have a very Merry Christmas and keep it V2 Radio!
