Skydive for foundation
The 29th March 2024 marks the four-year anniversary of the tragic deaths of Kelly Fitzgibbons and her daughters, Ava, aged four, and Lexi, aged two. All three had been shot in cold blood at the hands of Kelly’s partner, the girls’ dad, Robert Needham, who went on to take his own life at the family home in Woodmancote near Chichester.
The horrific scene was discovered by a family member. Ava and Lexi were found lying side by side on the bed under the duvet, while Kelly was lying on the floor next to the bed. The family dog was also shot and killed before Robert Needham took his own life.
Following the tragedy, Kelly’s twin sister Emma founded the Kelly Fitzgibbons Foundation and she has been campaigning tirelessly for new gun licence application laws, as well as supporting other grieving families who have also suffered the loss of their loved ones, in violent circumstances.
Emma is campaigning for a number of measures, including looking at the thresholds for the removal of a gun, the police and GPS to work closely together to improve the sharing of information and for gun reviews to be carried out more frequently.
Despite discussions with MPS and visits to Westminster and the Home Office, Emma’s fight goes on to change the gun licensing legislation and address the failings in the police force.
Sadly since the murders of Kelly, Ava and Lexi, other victims including those in
Plymouth and Epsom have tragically died.
Every penny given will help the Foundation to continue their fight to prevent another tragedy in the future and provide valuable funds, to enable Emma to continue her incredible support and guidance of other bereaved families.
