St Patrick’s Day will be marked at Fontwell
St Patrick’s Day festivities will light up Fontwell Park Racecourse next Monday, March 18.
The racecourse will be continuing St Patrick’s Day celebrations with high spirited festivities. Irish music will provide a backdrop for great traditional food alongside a full afternoon of jumps racing.
The cosy figure of eight onsite pub will be transformed into an Irish bar to mark the occasion and a special Guinness Day at the Races package will be available which includes admission, a raceday programme, two points of Guinness (or soft drinks) and great access to the all action on and off the track for just £24.
The gates will open at 12:15pm with plenty of time to get a round of Guinness before the first race at 2:13pm and the last race at 4:48pm.
General admission starts from £19 when booked in advance. For more information and to book, visit www. fontwellpark.co.uk/whatson/winter-afternoon-racingmonday-18-march
Fontwell staff will be hoping for dry weather between now and raceday, having lost a number of fixtures in recent weeks to waterlogging – including the National Spirit Hurdle fixture.
Set in spectacular surroundings and steeped in racing history, Fontwell Park is located in the heart of the West Sussex countryside and is the only remaining figure of eight jumps course in the UK.
This year, Fontwell Park is celebrating its centenary with a nostalgic raceday.
On Sunday May 16, the special Centenary Raceday will include a mix of music, racing, history and memorabilia showcase and a gala dinner.
Along with the impressive and now one of a kind track, Fontwell Park boasts beautiful landscaped topiary gardens, and unique venue spaces.
These are popular for private hire, weddings and celebrations.
