Chichester Observer

A brilliant community effort as you brought us your bras!

- The view from V2

Well, here we are in the Easter holidays with lots going on around the Chichester

area.

We have visited Dell Quay Pick Your Own it’s a must for the family, whether it's to pick strawberries in the summer, pumpkins for Halloween or like we did visiting the lovely animals.

The family have also been around the various woodlands, with loads of trees and other plant life, such as those lovely bluebells coming out in bloom.

Despite the beauty, one thing that upsets me is the amount of dog mess that is around – it’s everywhere, in the middle of pathways to the edge of the pathways.

The other day, I picked up a stick to flick a lump into the hedgerow and yep, I picked up the end that someone had already used.

Fuming is not the word! Now as I look back it’s kind of funny.

Most of us are responsible dog owners, it should go without saying but please ‘pick up after your dog’ PLEASE! That’s the rant over and on to some great news.

As a station we have just finished our popular ‘Bring Us Your Bras’ campaign to raise vital funds for ‘Against Breast Cancer’ and once again you, the people of Sussex have done us proud.

Thank you to Lewis Brownlee chartered accountants as our main sponsor and all the other fantastic businesses that have got involved.

We managed to raise just under 5,500 bras, an incredible achievement yet again.

As a small team at V2 Radio, logistically getting the bra banks out to the various places in one day and collecting again is a challenge, but the super double act of me and Crouchie, we managed to get the bulk out and our lovely Kelly and others in the office delivering or collecting up what we couldn't achieve.

It's all about teamwork and that includes you as a listener with the donating, Thanks again, you make a difference

This is what ‘proper local radio’ is all about, local presenters talking about local events or local places, but making a difference.
