Classic American

RAY OF HOPE

- Ben Klemenzson, editor bklemenzson@mortons.co.uk

Slowly, it looks as if we are turning a corner in the Covid-19 pandemic and things are starting to look a bit brighter. At the time of writing, the lockdown is being eased and some semblances of normality seem to be returning. This coming weekend I will see family for the first time in more than 10 weeks, albeit in a garden ... but that's better than nothing and it will offer me the opportunity to get one of my classic Americans out and give it a run, something that I've been itching to do over the past few weeks of completely un-British Mediterranean weather!

So how has it been for you? I'm sure we're all bemoaning the loss of this year's car show season; however, as one door shuts, another opens. When was the last time you took your car on a really long, enjoyable road trip? If this glorious weather continues, there may be opportunities aplenty, certainly in this country and possibly even on the continent - for those of you living close to European ferry terminals such as in Kent, France is actually closer than places like the Cotswolds or the Lake District!

I'm sure most of us have been busy polishing, cracking on with little jobs on our cars that up until now we haven't got round to, or even servicing our vehicles - there's even a very basic service guide in this issue (and we mean basic!) starting on page 76. I hope you enjoy this month's 'bow tie' special and with the opening of car showrooms, you can now sell your own vehicle and parts (as long as it's outdoors and practising social distancing!). So why not take advantage of Classic American's free classifieds in the back of this (and every) issue? They're easy to use and not as prone to scammers and time wasters as certain well-known auction sites.
