1984 Airstream 270 Classic Motorhome

This 27ft example, imported from the US in 2002, was fully rebuilt, inside and out, before export, a three-year project that reportedly soaked up in excess of $70,000 at the time, including a brand new GM 502 HT crated engine. Since arrival in the UK, the Airstream has been used sparingly, mainly for classic race support at circuits around the country, including several trips to Goodwood with the odd holiday excursion thrown in for good measure. As it is just 27 feet in length, the vendor states that it is eminently more usable than many of the larger examples and with a sleeping capacity of six there is plenty of scope for the whole family to enjoy the experience. In present ownership since import, about 18 years, it is in superb condition throughout and has been maintained regardless of cost. Accompanied by an extensive history file, this Airstream has an impressive specification including generator, captain’s chairs, air conditioning, fridge, shower, toilet and water heater alongside the many other accoutrements that one would expect in a vehicle of this standard.
