Tasty Jeep
Every year Jeep holds its annual Safari in Moab, Utah and while this event is supposedly an event for Jeeps old and new to show their off-roading skills and prowess, it’s also an opportunity for the manufacturer to unveil some eye-popping concepts. This year is no exception and taking centre stage (in our opinion) is this stunning Jeepster Beach concept. Basically Jeep has taken a 53-year-old (1968) Jeepster Commando, removed the drivetrain and stuffed the guts of a 2020 Jeep Rubicon underneath. Power comes from a modified 2.0-litre turbo-charged four-cylinder engine that’s been upgraded to put out 340bhp and 369ft-lb of torque. This is hooked up to an eight-speed automatic gearbox and a 4:1 transfer case and 35in tyres. We’ll be having a more in-depth look at this and the other concepts next month!
