Off the Mark
Dear Classic American,
Having just received my April edition of Classic American, I was looking forward to reading about the 1969 Lincoln Continental Mark III as stated on the next month page in the March edition, only to find no article at all in the magazine! As an owner of such a vehicle this was very disappointing. Is there any particular reason for this? Anthony Walker

I’m very sorry you are disappointed and totally understand – pulling features from magazines is always a last resort; unfortunately our advertising sales department sold more adverts than anticipated and so extra pages had to be allocated to them. Rather than running the feature over just a couple of pages, we took the decision to carry it over to this issue so it could run to the full four pages it deserves. I realise that this is not an excuse, but at least it offers an explanation – in these difficult financial times we need to make sure we take advantage of every opportunity presented to us in the form of advertising. A lot of car magazines have gone to the wall over the last 12 months and we’re determined that Classic American will make it through to the other side of this pandemic and unfortunately that’s meant making difficult commercial decisions like this one to drop a feature to make way for advertising. That’s a great looking Mark III you’ve got there Anthony, hopefully we can see it in the metal at some of the shows over the summer!
