Dear Classic American,

A couple of gripes regarding anyone (private or trade) advertising a car for sale: please state if it is manual or auto and always include the asking price – ‘POA’ (Price on Application)? I just cannot understand why this is used – is price a closely guarded secret only to be revealed to a privileged few? These details are obviously important to potential buyers so why not include them in your ad in the first place? Saves a lot of faff! Ian Birks
