1963 FORD THUNDERBIRD ROADSTER
After 1963, the famous T-bird became more of a luxury car than a Grand Tourer, but the third-generation model retained much of the ‘personal’ cachet which had originated in 1955. With its severely pointed profile, the faired-in Sports Roadster model was the only four-seater production car that became a two-seater, thanks to a glass fibre tonneau with fairedin headrests which covered the standard convertible’s rear-seat area, Batmobile style. Only 455 of these power-assisted soft-tops were sold in the 1963 production year, and with wire wheels and tail-lights which resemble jet afterburners, they represent one of the most desirable rides from that period.
