C-bodies please!

-

Dear Classic American,

I’ve been subscribing to Classic American for about a year now, and I really love your content – I love hearing people’s stories especially! I would love an issue to include information on fuselage C-bodies (19691973), a continuation from the ‘forgotten Mopars’ article on the Plymouth Volare and Dodge Aspen in (somewhere around) the October 2021 issue. I have had an obsession for C-bodies for quite a few years now and would love to hear your take on them. (I would argue they are more forgotten than any other Mopar!). This is my first time contacting you, should I expect to hear a reply?

You certainly should expect a reply and not only that, as you can see, we’ve printed your letter in this issue! Those forgotten Mopars you refer to were not only forgotten, but are almost universally disparaged, whereas the fuselage-bodied C-body Mopars have a cult following, definitely something we’d like to explore further.

We have celebrated these big beautiful boats on several occasions, so if you can get your hands on the following previous issues from between October 1991 (we don’t stock issues going that far back, but eBay is a great source!) and January 2020 you can read all about them:

?? ?? There are also Dodge and Plymouth B-body cars we’ve done features on, but we haven’t got the space here to include those also. These are great looking cars and the last of the proper big Chrysler luxo-leviathans, but there just don’t seem to be that many here in the UK!
