Classic American

More Girls! ... Although, not too many!

Dear Classic American,

I would like to start by saying what a great magazine Classic American is. I’ve had a couple of American cars in my life but unfortunately now I’ve retired we just have the wife’s car but my passion for American classics will stay with me forever. I love reading the articles in the magazine, looking at the cars for sale, seeing where there are shows coming up so we can go to them.

My only gripe with your magazine is that it seems the only photos you publish have blokes in them... That was until this month’s edition (December 2021); for the first time in years of buying your mag (I subscribe) there are actually pictures of ladies in it! And quite a lot of them. Very nice and very refreshing, if I wanted magazines with just women in them I would buy those mags but I’m not like that. I love cars and it’s great that finally you have realised that we men like to see both in your magazine.

Hi John, well we do tend to use images of the owners of the cars we feature and they do tend to be predominantly male owners… However, you will be delighted with the 1965 Buick Wildcat we’re featuring this month, which includes a rather attractive model! Interestingly, in the past readers have complained that the models have got in the way of the car and they can’t see it and that if they wanted to see models, they would buy girly mags!
