I’m constantly on the lookout for new and re-released model car kits and while browsing Round 2 Models’ website I was immediately attracted to the 1970 Dodge Dart wheelstander drag car created by Bill ‘Wild Bill’ Shrewsberry. This iconic crowd pleaser was designed specifically to be driven down the quartermile drag strip on its rear wheels, steered by individual rear brakes and aimed down the track through a hole in the floor of the car. To get the front wheels of the L.A. Dart, as it was known, into the air, a 426cu in Chrysler Hemi V8 was mounted in the boot/trunk of the car with wheelie bars behind to stop it flipping over completely. Shrewsberry could race this beast
