Swap shop?
Dear Classic American,
With regard to retro/classic American cars from the Eighties to mid-Nineties (front-wheel-drive compacts) – has anyone done a swap by putting a GM Ecotec (its world engine) into Chevy Berettas, Cavaliers or Corsicas, Pontiac Grand Am or Grand Prix? And same application for Ford Ecoboost or Zetec engines in older front-wheel-drive American Ford compacts like the Taurus SHO and so on? Thanks for the advice and help.

Hi Clive, I don’t think we’re going to be much good for advice or help, as this is a conversion we’ve never come across or even heard about... The closest thing might be the fitting of a Transit diesel engine in various Fifties or Sixties pick-up trucks, but that’s about it. Of course, who knows, maybe one of our readers might have carried out such a conversion?!
