WHEELS DAY

The 49th Wheels Day has a new venue: Newbury Show Ground – more details on this to follow, but the organiser statement says: “In the next couple of weeks myself and Andrew will bring full details on entry and everything else as it happens... This is a great step forward for the club with a purpose-built show area and great road links and parking... Just a note: It was not the SSR that wanted to leave Rushmoor Arena; unfortunately with over a 100% cost increase we had no option.” The Surrey Street Rodders’ annual season-opening extravaganza to raise money for charity and kick off the UK car show season takes place on Good Friday, which this year is on March 29. Expect to see Americans, hot rods, custom cars, British classics, VWs – basically anything interesting on four or two wheels. John Price will be on the PA and there will be many traders and auto jumble, with plenty of activities for kids and the whole family, as well as food and drink retailers. For more information and to register to enter, go to www.surreystreetrodders. com or see their Facebook page. Registration is necessary to enter, you cannot just turn up
