Do you really need a big bike?

Just reading through my November 2017 mag and was quite taken by this article. You are quite right. You don't need a 1250 to do a bit of trailing or nipping along B roads. Have you done anything on the Enfield Himalayan or their recent 350? Or 1960 Lambretta or Vespa, or even the newer four-stroke scooters? My first bike was a Lambretta and then a Norton ES2 before moving on to a Trophy (two carbs are too much trouble). I'm sure it was thus for many of us. Anyway, your old mags still make great reading.

Tom, great to see our old editions don’t go out with the daily paper, but are still entertaining years later! I am a massive fan of smaller bikes for the fun factor, but also getting a bike that suits you, not necessarily one that you want to be seen on. It only adds to the experience.
